MANUFACTURING

The pieces of furniture for the “Skógur” range are currently available in 3 wood essence: the oakwood (rustic*), the cherrywood, the American walnut wood. Other wood essence will soon further complete our range. If you wish to have any other wood essence, you can contact us, and we will happily get back to you.
* Rustic: oakwood including veins, knots, etc.
Each piece being almost entirely handmade, manufacturing can take 4 to 5 business-weeks depending on the piece of furniture.
(1) This timeframe could take longer in case the order does not belong to the “Skógur” range or in case of larger orders.
No way. We are very cautious in using materials and treatment oils that are natural.

DELIVERY

Once the order has been placed, you will receive an email or a message confirming that the order is ready to be shipped. Depending on your location and the requested type of delivery, it can take 3 business-days in Belgium and Luxemburg. For the deliveries in the rest of Europe, the delivery can take 7 to 9 business-days. In some circumstances, the delivery may take longer, you will be kept in touch if this may happen.
(1) Covid-19: Due to the current pandemic situation, the delivery timeframe can be a little longer. We are following up closely the evolution of the Coronavirus. The health and safety of our clients and our staff members are a priority for us. We are temporarily taking extra precautions to avoid direct contact as much as possible. No handshakes are involved. During the delivery or the collection of products, we are requesting that you keep a minimal distance of 1,5m with the staff members. We are applying the same hygiene measures with our associates: therefore, we ask that you wear your mask during the delivery as well as during the assembling of the piece of furniture. Although we cannot enforce you to wear the mask, we give the freedom to our team to deliver or not the piece of furniture in case you decide not to wear one. In case you are coming down with symptoms such as a cold, cough, sore throat or a headache, the client and/or the employee is allowed to postpone the delivery or the collection of goods. Thank you in advance for your understanding. (2) For any special orderings (outside of EU and/or in bigger quantities), the timeframe of delivery will be calculated individually. (3) The custom fees required by some countries (e.g., the United Kingdom, Norway, etc.) are at the expense of the buyer.
Unless otherwise stipulated, the prices shown are agreed with one another at the workshop located in 5032 Mazy (Gembloux, Belgium). The shipping includes the assembling from one or more of our team members.
– Delivery at the ground floor :
For the deliveries made within a 50 km radius, the price asked is 65 euros. For the deliveries made elsewhere in Belgium, the price is 150 euros.
– Deliveries above the ground floor* or the apartment building :
For the deliveries within a 50km radius, the price asked is 95 euros. For the deliveries made elsewhere in Belgium, the price is 180 euros.
*(1) only applied to the pieces of furniture that can be disassembled “modulær” and for a maximum of 5 floors. Higher floors or piece of furniture that cannot be disassembled, the quotation will be made individually.
– Collection of your order at the workshop After arranging a date, you will be able to come and pickup your order at the workshop at no extra cost.
*(1) Only the non “modulær” versions can be collected in person. Those versions are made and finished at the workshop, therefore they can take a lot of space and are heavy-weighed. Moreover, we cannot guarantee there will be no damages to the structure or to the functionality once it leaves the workshop.
*(2) If you cannot collect your order, we can organise to store it for free for a maximum of 15 days. Above this duration, we charge 25 euros/day for the storage of your order.

ADVICE

Rooms with a lot of humidity or important variation of temperatures as well as rooms that are too warm are not advised for wooden furniture. In fact, we advise you do not place your piece of furniture nearby a fireplace or in a room where the temperature varies rapidly. We recommend a temperature between 15 and 25 degrees.
Refer to the question above (What do you advise in order to keep the piece of funiture in the best shape at home?) to make sure you protect it at its best. It is recommended to do a regular maintenance with a microfiber cloth slightly humid and a wood treatment with one of our oil once a year or as soon as you notice the wood losing its coating. Our furniture does not need to be sanded before applying any oil treatment.

ORDER

SEPA transfers on the account number mentioned. Payments through Paypal or Stripe (available soon). We are cryptocurrency friendly, from January 2021, we will be accepting payments using crypto currency (Bitcoin and Ethereum). Cash payments as well as cheques are not accepted.
Yes, contact us as soon as possible by telephone or through the website contact form, indicating the reference number of your order. We will then contact you to arrange the modifications.
Yes, contact us as soon as possible by telephone or through our website contact form indicating your order’s reference number. A confirmation that your order has been cancelled will be sent to your email address. The cancellation policies vary depending on the progress of the making, the type of furniture and the way you used to place the order :
– If the fabrication has not started yet, we will simply cancel the order, regardless the type of furniture ordered or the way you ordered it. You will be refunded the full amount within 7 working-days on the account used to place the order (the process of fabrication usually starts the following working day after confirmation of the order, an email will be sent to you to confirm the status of your order).
– If the fabrication has started, we will cancel your order, regardless the order and we will refund 75% of your deposit for a standard model. For any customized design, we will not be refunding the deposit.
– If the order has already been finished or shipped, you will not be able to cancel the order. Your order will then be delivered. For the standard models, you will be refunded 25% of the total amount paid. For the customised design, the total amount paid will be held accountable. The return shipping costs will be at your expense and deducted from the refund.
– If you placed an order online, according to the law (art. VI.47 to VI.53 CDE), you have a withdrawal period of fourteen (14) days (from the day of delivery of the products), by refusing the delivery or by contacting us if you have already received it. The return shipping costs will be at your expense and deducted from the refund.

ABOUT US

Mathias Sonet, a 28-year young Belgian designer, graduated with a master in industrial design at “l’École Supérieure des Arts de Saint-Luc” in Liège. After travelling and taking some time figuring out his professional path, he has decided to start his own studio project and the furniture brand.
The workshop is open to the public and we will happily welcome you here.
